Foundation Engagement Coaching
I work with organizations that have a C3 entity but haven't yet figured out how to make it work in the foundation world. That often starts with getting clear on what the program actually is and how to talk about it in terms foundations will recognize, then builds into materials, messaging, and staff training. I bring an insider perspective from years on the funder side, which means I can help clients understand not just what to say but how foundations actually think, who the relevant players are, and how to build relationships in a space that rarely has an open door.
Strategy & Program Development
I work with clients who are either starting fresh or rethinking a current direction, building the program structure, theory of change, and implementation logic that turns a vision into something actionable. That might mean designing a new program, mapping the field to inform where to invest, or getting clear enough on existing work to communicate it well to funders and partners.
For donors & Foundations
Strategic Donor Advising
I work with donors who want a thought partner in developing a giving strategy that actually reflects what they care about and works in practice. That might mean clarifying values and priorities, understanding the landscape in a particular area, figuring out how to structure giving across different vehicles, or all of the above. Engagements are confidential, practical, and built around where the donor is rather than a fixed process or predetermined set of answers.
Donor Collaborative Support
I work with donors and funders who want to coordinate with others, whether through an informal peer network or a formal grantmaking collaborative with shared decision-making and governance. I can help design and facilitate strategy conversations among funders, build the infrastructure a grantmaking collaborative needs to function well, or support an existing collaborative that needs a clearer process or stronger alignment. The form varies, but the goal is the same: helping funders work together more effectively than they could alone.
